Le Haut Fresnay in Normandy has been a great success!

23rd December 2008

Our advert with you for our property 'La Fresnaie' at Le Haut Fresnay in Normandy has been a great success and we are very pleased with the way things have gone since we placed our advert with you. As a measure of the advert's sucess, we already have 22 weeks booked for next year, which is some way beyond our expectations. After 2 fruitful years of letting this property, which we designed and built from scratch for wheelchair users, we now know we have a winner and we look forward to another good season in 2009, notwithstanding the downturn in the economy and the poor pound/euro exchange rate. accessatlast.com is working well for us and we would not wish to quibble about very much. However, the only weak link last year was the difficulty experienced by some of our tenants i...

Holidays for the disabled in Cyprus

15th December 2008

Cyprus 'more disabled-friendly' Famagusta Gazette 20.NOV.08, After a recent visit to Cyprus, I must say how nice it is to see so many improvements being made to help disabled people in tourist areas. I know that the resorts still have a fair way to go but the introduction of ramps and disabled access at hotels has improved vastly in the past two to three years. My husband has difficulty walking unaided, a condition that has steadily worsened as he has grown older. We were unsure of the best way to get about during our recent visit to Limassol but we opted to hire a wheelchair this year as we felt this would be the easiest way for him to move about. I am pleased to say that we experienced very few problems and when we did we did not have to wait very long for someone to come and give ...

Schwalbe Marathon Plus Evolution

3rd December 2008

Schwalbe Marathon Plus Evolution tyres for wheelchairs are designed with a revolutionary black and roll compound.  They leave no marks on the floor and look fantastic.  They come in black with white logos written on the tyre, also there is a new reflective logo which lights up in the night. The tyres come in 3 sizes 24 x 1 (25-540), 25 x 1 (25-559) and 26 x 1 (25-590). The average paraplegic who is active gets approx. 1 years usage, whereby a tetra who is active can get approx. 18 months.  The tread is very grippy but not nobby so you don't bring in the mud and they don't rough up your hands.  You'll even find in the wet, they are quite sticky.  On a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being bad - 5 being excellent), we rate a 4. The tyres are tight to get on, worth getting a pa...

Service Excellence

25th September 2007

I should like to commend the excellent service which I have received from Susan Payne. Having spent weeks surfing the net, making phone calls etc. I contacted Susan to seek assistance in my search for accommodation which was quite specific to say the least!  I discussed with Susan my specific needs with the layout of rooms I required and within the hour she telephoned me to say she had managed to find the rooms I required in the Copthorne Tara Hotel - she had even managed to get our rooms all in a row which is just perfect. After many sleepless nights over the last few weeks, one telephone call to Susan did the trick! I would like to convey my sincere thanks to Susan and will certainly be contacting her again in the future should I need help and assistance. Regards Jane Brechner...

I was delighted to find accessatlast

25th May 2007

This is the first time that I have tried to book anything with wheelchair facilities in mind. Having grown up with wheelchairs in the family I was aware that the process would be difficult, bad and I thought just plain inconvenient (mainly based on the fact that non wheelchair users don’t normally understand). I did some searches on some of the sites and they all said wheelchair friendly, but as you know yourself, friendly and actually wheelchair uses friendly are 2 different things. I was absolutely delighted to find your site and your help and the information that yourself and the web site provided were able to provide me with a service and peace of mind that cannot be matched. I am very happy with not only your service but your interest and commitment to finding us a holiday that...
